The Story of Nature Bijoux

Nature Bijoux is above all a family story!

It all started in 1982.

Jean-Danière Christin, a native of the town of Molières in the French department of
the Tarn-et-Garonne, travelled the markets in the South-West of France to share his
passions: ornithology and botany. There, he sold his discoveries: minerals, taxidermy,
shells…he was interested in all things nature-related! Very quickly, he began to craft
jewelry from natural materials and eventually founded his own brand in 1987:
Nature Bijoux. His children Manuelle, Simon and Amaury would soon join the
venture, giving birth to a dynamic family brand that puts all of its
expertise to create a universe imbued with authenticity.

From 1990 to 1996: Trips to the Philippines

After several trips between France and the Philippines, Jean-Daniel Christin sets up his creative studio on the island of Cebu. Enthralled by nature’s diversity on the island and the wealth of Filipino culture, he decides to stay as close as possible to his source of inspiration and materials. Located in the heart of an inspirational natural setting, the combination of materials and cultural diversity fuel and enrich Nature Bijoux’s creativity.

From 2002 to 2006: Manuelle, Simon and Amaury
Christin join the company

Nature Bijoux is first and foremost a family venture in which Jean-Daniel Christin has passed on his love of the trade, of nature and materials to his children. This is how they gradually join the company. Simon is appointed CFO in 2000, Amaury Art director in 2002 and Manuelle takes over the management of natural materials in Cebu in 2006.

2005: First communication campaign with
Carlin International.

In partnership with Carlin International, Nature Bijoux kicks off its first communication
campaign around the theme ‘Wearing Emotion’ where jewellery merges with the body and
Nature, associating images of skin sensuality and the natural beauty of the jewels.

2010: The first boutique opens

Nature Bijoux opens its first boutique rue Vavin in Paris,
now the Olivolga boutique.

2022: Nature Bijoux is 40 years old

Nature Bijoux celebrates its 40th anniversary! And, after forty years, it still offers unique and
authentic handcrafted jewellery that originates from nature. For this event, Nature Bijoux
looks back on four decades of creativity with a Capsule Collection of Limited Editions,
available on the new website at the end of September 2022.
